National practice standards

A newly developed set of national practice standards for consultation skills in pharmacy were launched on 18 March 2014. These practice standards define the competencies that pharmacy professionals need to achieve in order to conduct consultations and public health interventions effectively. The standards have been developed using the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP) framework, to help integrate pharmacy with other healthcare professions. They also reflect components of the medication-related consultation framework, a validated tool for assessing the consultation. Find out more...
